The House

The house is available for rent from April to October inclusive. It comfortably sleeps six, though by arrangement more beds can be added; with an inflatable double bed, a single camp bed and a double Irish settle bed.

The accommodation comprises:

  • three double bedrooms
  • two bathrooms (one with bath, both with showers)
  • kitchen (with dishwasher)
  • living room with large new woodburning stove
  • study area
  • hall and large games room (with table tennis, bar football and boules).

House living area

The house is centrally heated throughout. Mosquito nets are installed to the windows of all bedrooms and bathrooms.

Water is from a mains supply, supplemented by superb drinking water from our own underground stream.

WiFi is available, but coverage is very poor, so we recommend going to the local pizzeria only a couple of minutes drive where it is free and where they serve an excellent cappuccino!

The Apartment

The apartment is available for rent April to October inclusive.

It was converted from a former stable in 2000 and retains many of the original features, including the wooden manger. It is completely separate at ground floor level with its own private entrance.

Its terrace is shaded by campsis and wisteria. A table and chairs are provided for outdoor eating and relaxing in the summer evenings.

Apartment's living area

The apartment sleeps 2 and the accommodation consists of:

  • A double bedroom, kitchen/sitting room with open fire and a bathroom.
  • A washing machine, shared with the house, is available in a separate laundry room.
  • Full gas-fired central heating.
  • All windows have anti-mosquito protection.

The Garden

The property stands in a two acre paradise of land, that includes a well equipped herb garden, an orchard, an olive grove of 85 trees, flowers, shrubs, grass and woodland. It looks up the beautiful Cortona valley.

The garden and surrounding area is a haven for butterflies, birds (including nightingales!), fire flies and other wildlife such as porcupines and wild boar. We sometimes see red squirrels and deer in the garden too.

The Swimming Pool

A magnificent SWIMMING POOL installed in 2002 measures 11 x 5.5 metres with a ledge of one metre deep running around the perimeter and with beautiful Greek stone surrounding  the whole pool.

It benefits from 8 hours of sunshine per day and has a shaded area under the trees with table and sun loungers. There is also an outside shower.swimming pool

The Tobacco Tower

There is also a separate converted former tobacco tower with barbecue facilities, tables and chairs and a shaded sitting area.

Over the roof grow plums, kiwis, grapes and clematis. Quite an ideal place for a long summer drink as the sun sets over the hills, and a great place to watch stars in the exceptionally good light.
